Sarapatta Parambarai Coming Soon On Prime: Actor Arya Becomes A Sensation For His Boxing Skills And '70s Fashion
'Sarpatta Parambarai', written and directed by Pa Ranjith, taps into the 'boxing culture' that thrived in north Chennai in the 1970s
Directed by Pa. Ranjith and starring Arya Boxer, 'Sarpatta Parambarai' is set to release on Amazon Prime ODT on the 22nd, and the popular channel has grabbed the television rights to the film amid stiff competition.
Arya recently took to his Instagram to share the official poster as "Sarpatta Parambarai '' is 3 days away from its release. Director Pa. Ranjith has directed the film 'Sarpatta Parambarai' which is a bit different from his style and focuses on the boxing competition held in North Chennai in the 70s. For this film, actor Arya has done hard exercises and changed his bodyweight like a boxer. It was only through the trailer that it became clear how hard he or the entire crew had done the physical exercises for the film. While the film was expected to be released in theatres, the film crew has now decided to release the film on the OTT platform as the theatrical release is currently being postponed due to the Corona disaster.
Talking about the movie, the plot of "Sarpatta Parambarai" is reportedly set in North Madras of the 1970s and revolves around a fight between two boxing clans Idiyappa Parambarai and Sarpatta Parambarai. Co-produced and directed by Pa Ranjith, Sarpatta features an ensemble cast consisting of actors John Kokken, Kalaiyarasan, Dushara Vijayan, Anupama Kumar and Santosh Pratap, among others. Bankrolled by Neelam Productions and K9 Studios, the sports drama has music by composer Santhosh Narayanan. The movie marks the first-time collaboration between Arya and Pa Ranjith.Sarpatta Parambarai, centred around the boxing world, will be released on Amazon Prime Video on July 22.
